Keep Texas Beautiful is excited to launch our third annual Fall Sweep! Fall is just around the corner and its time to sweep away the lazy days of summer. Let’s go back to school and back to work improving our communities.
This year, Fall Sweep will begin right after Labor Day on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Groups can plan their events all the way through America Recycles Day on Friday, November 15, 2019. As always, participating groups are eligible for free cleanup supplies and a post on our online calendar. Check out our website for details!
Last year close to 600 different groups participated in Fall Sweep, including at least 15 youth groups. This year we would like to encourage more youth participation.Teach them young and start their school year off with a great learning experience on serving the community. Whether you are a scout troop, school group or just a neighborhood of families, everyone can lend a hand in some way and be a part of Fall Sweep.

- Little League and sports teams
- School sports teams and band
- School civic groups and clubs
- School classroom groups
- YMCA and Boys & Girls Club groups
- After school programs
- Church youth groups
- Girl and Boy Scouts (Receive a FREE patch)
- And even local families with children
Getting involved is easy! Youth groups can…
- Pick up trash around a school, church or city park for 9/11 National Day of Service
- Improve a local park by painting benches, re-mulching the playground or painting a mural
- Improve their school or group facility with a mural, fresh coat of paint or some new plants
- Plant a tree or create a garden for Texas Arbor Day on November 1
- Organize a recycling collection event for America Recycles Day on November 15
- Host or attend an educational session related to conservation, beautification or recycling
- Be creative and come up with their own Fall Sweep youth project
For assistance with planning and permission please reach out to your local KTB Affiliate, school administrator, facility manager or City/County government.We encourage everyone to consider safety and liability during your event and make sure you have parental permission when working with youth.
