Fall Sweep is in full swing, and KTB is ready to support your cleanups this season!

We’ve been listening to what our affiliates and other volunteer groups across the state have shared with us, and we’re excited to share some new resources to help make this the most successful Fall Sweep yet.

Fall Sweep Timeline

Events hosted between September 11th – November 19th, 2023 qualify for free supplies. You must request supplies at least three weeks before your event. The final deadline to submit is October 27th. Make sure to plan ahead!

This season, you can include the number of items you’d like for each requested supply (fulfillment is always subject to availability). In order to promote sustainability, and to ensure that everyone has equal access, KTB will only send litter grabbers to groups that have not yet received them in 2023.

In exchange for free supplies, KTB asks that you report your activities back to us at the end of the season. The deadline to submit all reporting, and remain eligible for future supplies, is December 6th, 2023.

Planning Your Event

KTB hosted focus groups with affiliates across the state in August.  We heard over and over that having event planning checklists, as well as ideas for how to promote your cleanups, were the areas where you could use the most support.

Our updated 2023 Fall Sweep Event Planning Toolkit is five pages chock full of ideas about how to choose a site, schedule your event, communicate with your volunteers, and plan the flow of your event. It also breaks down how to collect your data, and easy ways to submit that to KTB.

Our updated Social Media Kit has strategies on how to promote your events on Facebook and Instagram, a suggested timeline for getting out the word, and more!

Sharing Your Data with KTB

All litter cleanups must be documented via a Trash Report submitted to the Texas Litter Database. Our new Trash Report Printout is an easy, printable guide you can bring into the field. It asks you the questions you’ll answer when submitting to the database. Remember to submit a report for each cleanup location separately!

Finally, everyone participating in Fall Sweep will be asked to submit a Wrap-Up Report. This is a great opportunity to share your stories, photos of your events, and get full recognition for all of your efforts over the course of the season. Download and fill in our Fall Sweep Data Collection Sheet to collect all of that information in one place.
