We are just over a month away from our Keep Texas Beautiful Annual Conference in Rockwall, Texas! The Conference is not only a time to educate yourself on our theme, Navigating a Changing Texas, but also a time to have fun and build new relationships. We know some of you all have already started preparing your Conference itinerary, and we want to help. We have highlighted some of this year’s events that are sure to be chalk full of fun and excitement! Also, be sure to check out our Schedule at a Glance for a full list of events.

Affiliate Networking Event

When describing this event, you only need three words: sunset dessert cruise. Need we say more? Come meet new friends, exchange ideas, and share stories with members from across the state! We will be sailing out onto Lake Ray Hubbard with Sail With Scott LLC at 7 pm, and will return shortly after sunset at 9 pm. We encourage all attendees to wear their affiliate gear or their KTB Conference t-shirt! For more details and information, visit here! Space on the boat is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot soon or add your name to the waitlist!

Pre-Conference Workshops

This year’s pre-conference sessions offer a wide variety of educational workshops that range in topics from natural resources to waste and disposal. One of our great pre-conference sessions is Plants and Pollinators: Rockwall Agrilife Extension Center and Master Gardeners Demonstration Garden. This off-site workshop will be hosted by Texas Master Naturalist, Master Gardener, Master Composter, and former Keep Kaufman County Beautiful member, Neli Spurrell. Attendees will take a tour of the Rockwall Agrilife Extension Center and Master Gardeners Demonstration Garden. They will learn how to attract butterflies and birds in your yard, public or private gardens, and community areas using native and well-adapted plants and earth-friendly management. This workshop is like a mini field trip for nature enthusiasts. It’s not too late to register for this entertaining and educational tour

 Welcome Night Happy Hour

Conference is not just about learning great knowledge and skills, but also about meeting and connecting with people you share similar interests with. To make that process easier, we have added a new event to our Conference schedule. Just after the last session on opening day, we will be hosting the Welcome Night Happy Hour. Down on the gorgeous Conference deck, there will be delicious appetizers provided by us and a great cash bar. Instead of heading to your hotel room, head down to the event to mix and mingle with like-minded affiliates and exhibitors!

Community Auction and Silent Auction

Who doesn’t love a good auction? At the Silent Auction, name your own price on a number of amazing items that everyone is gong to be bidding on. At the community auction, tip the scale of luck in your favor by loading a bucket full of your own tickets. You decide how many tickets you want to buy, and you choose how many go into the bucket of your choosing. The anticipation of waiting to find out the winner of each item is so thrilling, and brings so much excitement to the night! Although there will be no motor-mouthed auctioneer banging his gavel, these auctions will still be full of fun.

We encourage all affiliates to donate a basket to the Community Auction. We love to see baskets that embody the life and spirit of your communities. If you are interested in donating a basket to the Community Auction, please visit here. You can also buy raffle tickets ahead of time, and be ready to bid on your favorite items when you walk through the door!

This year’s Keep Texas Beautiful Annual Conference is right around the corner. We are so excited to spend time with you all in Rockwall. We know that the events we have planned will not only bring you valuable insight and knowledge, but will also provide you some great entertainment and an opportunity to bond with your KTB family. See y’all in Rockwall!

It’s not too late to register for this year’s Conference!
