On February 25, 2023, The Yuengling Company will sponsor a cleanup event in Grand Prairie
Join KTB, The Yuengling Company, and Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful to showcase the work of KTB and the nearly 300 affiliates across the state. We’ll be volunteering to clean up Grand Prairie’s exemplar park–Loyd Park at Joe Pool Lake. The project is part of the partnership between KTB and The Yuengling Company to show how the small, family-owned brewery’s dedication is giving back to Texas—the latest state to be brewing Yuengling’s 194-year-old iconic portfolio of beer.
“As a family-owned and operated company from Pennsylvania, we are proud to brew Yuengling in Texas and more so, give back to Texas. As America’s Oldest Brewery, our commitment to having a beer for every taste on every occasion reflects our love of bringing people together and making a positive impact on our communities. That is why today, we are honored to work alongside Keep Texas Beautiful and give back to the state and people that embody the meaning of community.”
–Debbie Yuengling, Employee Engagement & Culture Manager, and 6th generation family member of D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc.
Grand Prairie was chosen for the site in honor of Yuengling’s brewing facilities in nearby Fort Worth, as well as Loyd Park’s suitability for hosting the afterparty. Grand Prairie is a strong example of the KTB affiliate communities, winning the prestigious Governor’s Community Achievement Award in 2020 and achieving Sustained Excellence status each year since 2018.
“Loyd Park is our largest Lake Park and so it will be perfect for this caliber of event with so many people in one location. Loyd Park also has the facilities to provide space for the volunteer appreciation celebration after the cleanup event. Aside from Loyd Park getting some love before spring break guests, recruiting new volunteers would be wonderful! We regularly host two kayak-based cleanups at Loyd Park per year on the Walnut Creek Paddling Trail so it will be great to have some additional hands for a land-based cleanup!”
–Amanda Maron, Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful coordinator.
