Celebrating 50 years of improving the environment, EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA) is an employee-owned public benefit corporation that provides environmental, compliance, natural resources, and infrastructure engineering and management solutions to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Our company is committed to sustainable leadership through the preservation and enhancement of the natural and built environments. EA has developed a keen social awareness and appreciation for precious and limited resources. As a Public Benefit Corporation, the firm holds itself accountable to its own sustainability initiatives and seeks out opportunities to support local communities.

EA is honored to have received the 2022 Ebby Halliday & Maurice Acers Business/Industry Award. This is the second time we have received this award and it is with humble appreciation and a sense of pride that we celebrate this important recognition. Our company was founded on environmental principals, as documented in our organizational governance as a Public Benefit Corporation, corporate social responsibility is a critical part of our culture with offices nationwide partnering with local organizations and participating in local events.

EA developed a long-term community partnership with Keep Lewisville Beautiful (KLB). The firm’s Lewisville office has been partnering with KLB since 2012, contributing 951 volunteer hours and helping to remove 13.2 tons of trash through cleanup efforts, tree plantings, recycling programs, and more. EA volunteers ask for and are granted the most challenging sites to clean, helping target problematic dump sites and beautify the community while engaging our employees to make a difference.

In 2021, the Lewisville office hosted a “Month of Service” initiative, full of KLB events that included helping to sow 765 native plants as part of a pollinator habitat and erosion control project, along with gathering all 765 pots and transporting them to be reused at a local nursery. Yay, beneficial reuse! EA team members planted 9 trees as part of KLB’s Arbor Day celebration and participated in the Trinity Trash Bash cleanup challenge, where we were recognized with the award, Most Trash Collected by an Adult Large Group. In addition to these events, we helped recycle 110 pounds of plastic bags through the Bags to Benches program. Altogether, the EA Lewisville team volunteered more than 118 hours in 2021 and helped remove 3,350 pounds of trash from the Lewisville community through KLB events and programs.

“As a Public Benefit Corporation, EA is dedicated to supporting the communities in which we live, and volunteerism is a vital component of our corporate culture,” said April Ballweg, PE, ENV SP, who organizes the firm’s involvement at KLB events. “Our team is motivated to do its part to enhance the quality of life in the areas in which we live and work, and we are proud to support the efforts of Keep Lewisville Beautiful.”

Through service and outreach, EA’s sustainability initiatives support our community through service and outreach. We are delighted to work with KLB in making the City of Lewisville and this awesome State of Texas cleaner and greener for our future generations!
