What to Expect at our Virtual Conference

By July 21, 2020No Comments

Our 53rd Annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference is a little over a month away, and we would like to answer any pressing questions or concerns of how to navigate our two-day virtual conference experience.

The decision to host the event virtually still allows for an educational experience all while prioritizing the health and safety of all attendees. At this year’s conference, you will still get to experience educational sessions, network digitally, and celebrate the achievements of various community leaders, inspiring youth, civic groups and more.

What can I expect?

The theme for this year’s conference is centered on building resilience and community through times of change. The event will feature panelists, speakers, affiliates across Texas, and partner organizations. You will engage with presenters and subject matter experts with insights into the challenges faced by Texans today in a variety of sessions being hosted.

Sessions will range from one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes. During a session, you’ll be able to interact with panelists using a built-in chat feature and interactive polls on the event website. Also expect there to be 15-minute breaks between sessions and an hour break for lunch to stretch your legs. Visit ktb.org/conference to see a list of the speakers, sessions, and conference schedule as it’s updated.

How much are tickets? How will registration work?

Purchase your two-day, full access tickets for $99. Each conference registration ticket allows one person to join the two-day virtual conference.

Instruction: Click here to register for the conference. If the link does not work, try accessing from Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers. Then, click “Check Out” to pay for your registration. Next, enter your name, email address you want associated with the registration and create a password. Please note you should have this password saved to access the conference. Next, you will be able to insert credit card information and register. If you are registering more than one attendee, you will need to open an incognito window to process each registration. Receipts for the transaction will be sent to the email address entered.

How do I access the conference digitally?

You will need access to a computer, a stable internet connection, computer speakers, or the ability to use headphones through your computer. Our conference platform has a mobile app with limited features. You can join the conference through the app on a smartphone or tablet with limited functionality. You would be able to view the Stage, view Sessions, view Expo, chat and the Networking features of our conference.

While it is not necessary to have a webcam to access the conference, you will need working speakers and/or a headphone jack to access the audition function. No software or programs will need to be downloaded to access the event. Our platform is accessible from Desktop (web) on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Other independent browsers that accept webRTC technology may be compatible. Please note that Safari is not fully compatible for video. Explorer/Edge is not compatible. Ticketed conference attendees will have access to recordings after the conference closes.

Once you are registered, a link for the event will be sent to the email address entered. We encourage you to add this event to your calendar with the associated link for easy access to it!

In the days leading up to conference and during, we’ll be sharing email updates on the schedule, speakers, interactive activities and more. Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email Tina Litzner, Operations and Events Manager. Our top priority is the safety of our attendees, and we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and educational event. We look forward to connecting with you online in August at our first virtual conference! Special thanks to our Conference Committee, partners, sponsors, speakers and attendees for your continued support!
