Keep Texas Beautiful, as a KAB affiliate and representative, coordinates GAC for the state of Texas. All KTB affiliates are eligible for FREE cleanup supplies, which include trash bags, clear recycle bags, vinyl gloves and work gloves.Affiliates will also receive two KAB/GAC banners and have access to a multitude of resources at www.ktb.org/gac.
The Great American Cleanup welcomes all community groups to participate. If you are not a KTB Affiliate, you can still participate by contacting your local KTB Affiliate. You may join an event already scheduled for your community or request supplies to host your own cleanup.Everyone, affiliate or not, is eligible to have their event posted on the KTB Calendar of Events.
The Great American Cleanup encourages communities to improve themselves in many different ways.Traditional cleanups are always a great option, but you might also consider one of the following projects:
- Solid Waste Collection Event (drop off for recycling, yard waste, chemicals, electronics, etc.)
- Facility Spruce Up (graffiti removal, park spruce up, community center spruce up, etc.)
- Beautification project (plant trees, landscaping, mulching, etc.)
- Community Education Fair (booths, activities, presentations, etc.)
- Earth Day Event – April 22, 2019
- Arbor Day Event – April 26, 2019
Whatever your community comes up with, you will be joining millions of fellow Americans to improve our nation, one community at a time. Happy Spring Cleaning!
