Road to Bay Coastal Cleanup
Road to Bay
Coastal Clean-Up
Keep Aransas County Beautiful and the Aransas Bay CCA chapter are partnering up for a combined volunteer cleanup day. We will have two ways you can help on Oct 21st.
First, KACB will be coordinating a roadside cleanup effort. Come to the volunteer signup tent by 8am Saturday morning and you will receive instructions, a briefing to make sure everyone is safe along the road, trash bags and other materials you might need, pickup location directions, and be paired to go have fun with the group keeping Aransas beautiful along Hwy 35 close to Cove Harbor. Trash pickup will be done by noon.
Second, for those who have a boat and want to volunteer for bayshore trash pickup duty, either launch your boat or drive your boat up to the public ramp dock from the water. Come to the volunteer tent by 8am and you will receive instructions, a briefing to make sure everyone is safe on the water, trash bags and other materials you might need, and we will have navigation maps showing you suggested areas to go pick up trash along the shorelines. We will be focusing our shoreline trash pick up areas from Cove Harbor to Conn Brown Harbor, Traylor Island, and Estes Flats spoil islands. Hopefully we will have enough volunteer boats to hit all these areas. You will need to bring your own boat crew with you. No volunteer extras allowed to climb on boats they didn’t arrive with. Each boat needs to return to the South Area Boat Ramp dock by noon to unload their trash into the provided dumpster.
All volunteers on either land or boats will need to sign into the volunteer table and sign liability waivers.
Thanks to everyone for volunteering your time to help keep our Aransas County roads and bays cleaner. See you Oct 21st.
