Operation Shore to Shore – Lewisville

New this year is Operation Shore to Shore on Saturday, May 16, an event focusing on cleaning the shores of Lewisville Lake and its tributaries in partnership with other cities along the lake. Other communities participating include Little Elm, The Colony, Oak Point, Shady Shores, and Lake Dallas. There might be a bit of friendly competition to see which city can have the most volunteers and the most trash collected!

Supply pickup will begin at 9am and all trash and supplies will need to be back onsite at our event location by 12pm (Catfish Picnic Area at Lake Park). Only trash pickup will take place in the morning. This portion of the event will operate very similarly to Spring Cleanup and Trinity Trash Bash; supply pickup/drop off will be a drive through and only one person from each group needs to come through the line. If a cleaning site within walking distance is needed, that option will be available. Since we will have a smaller event, there will not be opportunities to work on site behind the scenes. As always, this event is great for all group sizes and all ages.

In the afternoon/evening from 4pm to 8pm, Keep Little Elm Beautiful is hosting a celebration and educational expo at Cottonwood Park that will include food trucks, affiliate and vendor booths, and information from Texas Game Wardens. This is an optional portion of the event and you are welcome to clean with us in the morning even if you can’t make the evening celebration. There will be special event shirts available at the evening event, but only to those who register by Monday, May 4 at 12pm and only those who come on site to the event in Little Elm.
