1st Annual KLMB Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

Join us for Keep La Marque Beautiful’s 1st Annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway! We will be starting at 10am at the main pavilion at Highland Bayou Park. La Marque residents will be able to drive-thru and pick up a fruit/citrus tree! We will have a variety! The trees will be coming from Jimbo’s Nursery in Santa Fe, TX. Each tree will come with a care card with instructions for how to plant and care for the tree. Our fall/winter here in Texas is the perfect time to plant a tree. The cooler months give the trees ample time for the roots to become established so that it can handle the next summer heat and the strong winds from storms and hurricanes that come through. By providing trees to our residents we will be helping to GREEN La Marque, helping to provide food security, creating shade spots and habitats for small animals and birds, as well as helping to grow the amount of pollinator friendly plants we have in the city. Fruit/citrus trees will flower, which then turns into the fruit… those flowers are a bright warm welcome for our pollinator friends who love to buzz around and wiggle into the pollen! They get to make their honey while helping the trees pollinate to bear the fruit. Please join us in helping to create a green, pollinator friendly, beautiful La Marque! **any leftover trees will be cared for by the commissioners until a planting spot for their donation has been acquired**
