Houston-Galveston Area River, Lakes, Bays N Bayous Trash Bash

Join thousands of volunteers for the River, Lakes, Bays 'N Bayous Trash Bash® cleanup of the Galveston Bay watershed on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Participate in a cleanup at one of 16 locations in the Houston-Galveston area (check locations on website). Last year, 3,600 volunteers collected 85.5 tons of trash, 356 tires, and 1 ton of recycling while cleaning 159 miles of shoreline.

Trash Bash® is

  • Free and open to all ages
  • T-shirts, cleanup materials, and lunch are provided.
  • Each site has an environmental education component and great door prizes.
  • Scouts are encouraged to participate and earn a patch. Community service certificates are available.

Over 25 years, 109,421 volunteers have collected 2,274 tons of trash. 11,065 tires and 17.3 tons of recycling on 1,605 miles of shoreline. Trash Bash is managed by the Texas Conservation Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization. Sponsors and volunteers can donate online. Visit www.TrashBash.org for more information.
