Keep Mansfield Beautiful Creekside Cleanup
Litter is a big problem. Not only is it an unsightly mess, but it actually harms plants and animals and reduces the water quality. The City and H2Owen are looking volunteers of all ages to help Keep Mansfield Beautiful! The bi-annual Creekside Cleanup and Lunch is held during the spring and fall season. KMBC encourages residents to volunteer in city-lead events like Creekside Cleanup. Walnut Creek cuts through the heart of Mansfield, Texas. It brings life to the community. Along the creek you will find life in many forms, from the serenity of nature, running water, and wildlife to the hustle of people driving to work, biking on the trails, and families gathering in their backyards. Litter disrupts this life. It degrades the quality of all forms of life and the quality of water. Walnut Creek empties into Joe Pool Lake and although Mansfield’s drinking water doesn’t come from that water source, someone else’s does.
Join us and show you #LoveYourCity by helping to clean up areas around Walnut Creek. The city will provide volunteers with trash bags, gloves, sun block, bug spray, and a detailed map of each location will be provided. Recommended attire: closed-toe shoes or boots and pants that can get dirty.
