DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Woodlands Township invites residents to bring select items for a free, one-day special collection at the Recycling Drive-Thru located at the Sterling Ridge Park & Ride on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon. This free event is an opportunity for residents to recycle items that cannot be recycled in curbside carts.\n\n\nHelp by following these guidelines: Bag or box like items together and place in your trunk or back seat. Volunteers will provide a full-service drive-through, so please stay in your vehicle. No business items will be accepted.\n\n\nAccepted Items \n\n\n\nBatteries – Alkaline AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V; lead acid; silver oxide; lithium ion, button cell, and coin lithium; nickel cadmium; nickel metal hydride; and zinc carbon\n\n\n\n\nBicycles in any condition\n\n\n\n\nDisposable Razors and packaging.\n\n\n\n\nEyeglasses, sunglasses and cases.\n\n\n\n\nLightbulbs – Incandescent, Compact Fluorescent (CFL) and LED only. Must be intact, not broken. No tube lights over 4 feet.\n\n\n\n\nOral Care Products – Toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers.\n\n\n\n\nPlastic Bags & Film – Any plastic film that is clean, dry and stretchy.\n\n\n\n\nSmall Electronics – One file box or paper shopping bag per vehicle. Laptops, tablets, cell phones and cords only. No TVs or monitors. Proof of Woodlands address (Driver’s License or utility bill required).\n\n\n\n\nSnack & Drink Pouches – Any brand that comes with a straw or lid.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTextiles – Used clothing, shoes, linens, fabric scrap in any condition.\n\n\n\nPlease note, most of these items can be recycled year-round at participating locations in The Woodlands.
