Earth Day Alpine

Alpine will be all abuzz this Earth Day. Historic Murphy Street will be Keep Alpine Beautiful's headquarters for informational booths, recycling fun, a farmer's market, and presentations from 9 am till 1 pm.

At the Old One-Way Nursery, the Big Bend Chapter of the Native Plant Society will host a native plant sale also from 9 am till 1 pm. The Big Bend Conservation Alliance with host an all-day Water Symposium at the Granada Theatre with presentations going on hourly. Sul Ross State University's Biology and Geology Clubs are spearheading the March For Science to take place on campus at 11:30 am. Recycled art and other garden projects will be on display at the Garden Art Installation, a one-day event, held at Ring-Tail Records from 10 am till 6 pm. And don't forget to finish the day with Big Bend Parks and Recreation for Kids at Plaine Coffee beginning at 6 pm for their annual local fundraiser. The Doodlin' Hogwallops will headline this worthwhile event.
